Pep Guardiola predicts who will win Champions League

Manchester City manager has revealed that his club can’t be considered as favorites for the UEFA Champions League title and has named Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid as contenders.

Manchester City were eliminated by Liverpool last season in the quarterfinal hurdle, 5-1 on aggregate by Liverpool. Manchester City’s best finish in the Champions League was a semi-final finish when they were eliminated 1-0 on aggregate by Real Madrid.

Despite Pep Guardiola winning the title twice in his career, he still thinks Manchester City are not favorites for the title this season, “If we are favorites it means we are good, really good. But the best the club has done is a semi-final and I don’t know if we are ready, to be honest. When you believe you can win, then you have to do it.”

The Spaniard added that clubs with richer history in the competition have a better shot of winning the tournament, “AC Milan, who will soon return to the Champions League, have won it seven times. The favorites are the clubs with a bigger history and tradition than us. Real Madrid and Barcelona and also Juventus have been to the final twice recently and are getting closer every time.”
