Opposition Chief Raila Amollo Odinga has today given a detailed explanation of the Canaan he has been talking about during and after the 2017 general elections.
Speaking during the funeral ceremony of the late Joseph Kamaru, the NASA leader claims that the Canaan he was talking about was a land full of opportunities and goodies to his occupants.
Raila says that he was destined to reach Canaan with his supporters only to be stopped by the crocodiles at river Jordan. Are the crocodiles the IEBC and Jubilee government?
The outspoken opposition chief goes ahead to say that after meeting the crocodiles, the need for building a bridge to cross river Jordan arose hence the building bridges initiative that culminated to the now famous handshake. Raila says that he saw it wise for all Kenyans both of Jubilee and NASA to get to Canaan and hence his decision to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“…Plenty be found within our borders…kwa bibilia hiyo ndiyo canaan! na hiyo ndiyo Canaan tuliyokuwa tukiongelelea- Lakini tulipofika Jordan tukapata mamba na tukaona ni heri tujenge daraja…”~ said Raila Odinga.
It remains to be seen how his millions of NASA supporters will react to Raila’s view on Canaan.
