Wales legend confirms Ramsey will exit Arsenal

Midfielder Aaron Ramsey’s future could lie away from Arsenal as contract negations between the player and the club seem to have hit a snug with former Welsh teammate Craig Bellamy predicting that the midfielder could be playing his last games for the club.

Ramsey and his representatives are trying to negotiate for a new and improved contract with his current one expiring at the end of the season but Arsenal have shown reluctance and pulled out of a mooted four-year deal in September.

With the impasse, Bellamy, who played with Ramsey for the Welsh national team before his retirement feels that a move away from the club would be the best option for the former Cardiff player who this year clocked 10 years in North London since his move back in 2008.

“Come next year January or the summer, he’ll be going to another team,” former Manchester City striker told The Debate.

“Few years ago, every club wanted him – Manchester City, Barcelona. I think it’s time for him to move on. He’s become conscious of some players that have stayed too long at Arsenal and not got the best out of their ability. He’s a tremendous footballer that has had injuries.”

In recent years, Arsenal have had problems with tying down their most prized players often seeing them run down their contracts to eventually forcing moves to other rival clubs.

Players like Alexis Sanchez, Robin van Persie and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain have left the club in recent years.

Ramsey has scored 59 goals in 338 appearances for the gunners since his 5 million pound move in June 2008.
