Didn’t Jacob Juma, Msando lives matter? KOT erupt debate over DPP’s Directives

Kenyans on Twitter have erupted a debate following the directions given by the Director Of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Nordin Haji.

On Tuesday Television journalist Jacque Maribe faced another blow after murder charges alongside her fiancé Joseph Irungu alias Joe Jowie were directed to them following the death of businesswoman Monica Kimani in Kilimani estate, Nairobi last month by the DPP.

Haji said he has sanctioned murder charges against the duo after reviewing the evidence gathered by detectives so far.

“I am satisfied that there exists a prima facie case to warrant criminal prosecution,” Mr Haji stated.

“I have therefore directed that they be immediately arraigned before the High Court and charged accordingly.”

By excluding Mr Brian Kassaine, the other suspect in police custody over Ms Kimani’s September 19 murder at Lamuria Gardens, it means he will be a State witness in the case against the couple.

Kenyans on twitter who were reacting to DPP’s directions however expressed their concerns on the past murders that have been witnessed in the country.

They applauded the DPP for his commendable work but now posed a question for him to confirm whether the forgotten murders did not matter to Kenyans, just the same way Monica’s murder case is of concern.
