De Gea tired of individual awards

David De Gea has described his inclusion in the FIFA FIFPro as an honour and has revealed the desire to win team awards now.

The honour meant that the Manchester United’s goalkeeper heroics between the sticks was recognized and De Gea says it is a big individual achievement. The Spaniard is now eager to replicate the success with the team.

“Well, it was a pleasure to win this award, especially with the great players that have been in that team. So, it was a huge honour to win that and it’s great to be recognised as the best goalkeeper in the world. I am very happy and proud.” De Gea told MUTV.

“I think the most important thing for me about this award is the players vote to make this team so I am really proud about it. It’s really, really special for me. It’s been a lot of work in training, in games.”  The current Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year holder added.

De Gea explained that although the individual awards are good because it proves outstanding performance, his delight will come when he adds more team honours while at Man United.

“Yeah, I’ve won a lot of individual awards. But the ones that we want to win are the team ones. I think the individual ones are good, but the really special ones are ones you win with your team, with all of them, with Manchester United. This is the most important to win.” he added.

A 0-0 draw to Valencia meant that pressure is mounting on Manu United and their manager Jose Mourinho to start winning. Their league performances have also been questioned especially after a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford to Wolves and another loss to West Ham United.
