Man Utd Coach Mourinho gives ultimatum to Ed Woodward amid sack rumours

Reports emerged that the Special One would be sacked this weekend whatever the result against Newcastle. But the Red Devils have come out in support of Mourinho this morning.

The Special One is under pressure at Old Trafford after a series of poor results. Manchester United could only muster a 0-0 draw with Valencia in the Champions League earlier this week and that followed an abject defeat to West Ham in the Premier League.

Mourinho has also had a public bust-up with World Cup winner Paul Pogba. Now  Reports claim the Portuguese gave Woodward and the Glazers an ultimatum to back him or sack him.

There is said to be a determination among the owners to stick with Mourinho unless results continue to slide. United return to action against Newcastle later today in the Premier League.

And a defeat at Old Trafford could make Mourinho’s position harder to defend. A win would give him two weeks of breathing room because of the upcoming international break.

And United legend Gary Neville is furious at the idea Mourinho could be sacked. He said : “To be honest with you, I’m furious.

“I was furious three or four years ago when David Moyes was sacked and it broke a day before to journalists.

“I think of Louis van Gaal being sacked on an evening of an FA Cup final and finding out from other people.

“I think about how the club is being operated. If this is true – and we don’t know if it is – and Jose Mourinho is going to walk out at Old Trafford on Saturday almost as a dead man walking, those fans will absolutely turn towards that boardroom. It’s unacceptable.

“I have to say Jose Mourinho will get the biggest support he’s ever had in his life in that ground – and I will be there to give it to him.

“If this is true and it has broken the day before it’s going to happen and he’s going to be sacked at the weekend, it’s an absolute disgrace.”
