Sarri Hopes to See Chelsea Star Shed Tears More Often

Maurizio Sarri is hoping to see Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata cry on a regular basis. The phrasing of that may sound a little weird, but believe us, he means well.

Morata broke down in tears after finding the back of the net against Hungarian champions MOL Vidi on Thursday evening. He came under criticism from Chelsea fans on Twitter for doing so.

The Spaniard had scored just one goal in 17 appearances heading into the Europa League group fixture. Regardless of the quality of opposition, you could forgive him for feeling relieved to have finally got his name on the scoresheet.

Sarri also sees Morata’s tears as a positive thing. In fact, if it were up to him, he’d like to see Morata crying on the pitch at every possible opportunity. After the game, he was quoted by the Daily Star Saying:

“I don’t know, but if he wants to cry after a goal then I hope to see him cry more often.”

“I am very happy for him to score. It was important to play a good match, I think he did that.” Sarri added.

Chelsea Fans hope that Alvaro Morata will soon rediscover his goal scoring touch and help the team get the goals it so need at the moment. Alvaro Morata has been overshadowed by Olivier Giroud who has not rediscovered his goal scoring touch either.

Mitchy Batshuayi is the other reliable Chelsea Striker but he is currently on loan at Spanish Side Valencia in the La Liga.
