5 – Sergio Aguero is just the second player to score in five consecutive away Champions League appearances for an English team, after Ruud van Nistelrooy for Man Utd in 2003. Menace.

Club teammate Bernardo Silva is backing him to continue shining for the Citizens in the Premier League as Pep Guardiola’s club look to defend their domestic crown. Agüero’s scoring record for City places him in some very good company, with regard to players with the most goals for one Premier League club.

Aguero and Shearer are joint third on the list of players to have scored the most goals for one Premier League club behind Wayne Rooney for Manchester United (183) and Thierry Henry for Arsenal (175). Shearer, however, also scored 112 league goals for Blackburn – leaving Agüero some way behind the former England captain.

“Sergio is the best scorer in Manchester City’s history,” added Silva. “He’s a legend not only for Manchester City but also for the Premier League if not the best striker in the world then one of the best. You have to admire players that score 30 goals and next season they don’t rest, they want to score 30 or 40 again. We have to admire that and be happy to have him and enjoy it. If he reaches that level it will be even better because everyone knows how important Alan Shearer was for English football and for the Premier League.”
