DCI boss George Kinoti reveals fresh details about Sharon Otieno’s killers

Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti has divulged more details regarding the killers of the slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Kinoti stated that the deceased was meant to die along with five other people who got involved in her murder to cover up the crime.

“Between three to five people who knew Sharon’s murder were to be killed. Luckily, we uncovered the conspiracy” said Kinoti as reported .

According to Kinoti, the next step after Sharon’s killing was to eliminate some of those who were involved to cover their tracks.

“There is no mystery in a murder involving many people. A murder case that is complex to crack is often the one that involves only one individual,” he added.

Detectives had earlier said that mobile phone data helped them to link suspects to the murder after Sharon’s body was found on September 4 dumped in a thicket, a day after she was abducted alongside journalist Barack Oduor.

Since the gruesome murder of Sharon, six suspects are in police custody and are believed to be connected to the murder, including Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

Obado was arrested on September 21, and has for the second time been dealt a major blow after High court ruling on Thursday which saw him denied bail.

Obado will remain at Industrial Area Remand prison until October 8, when a fresh bail application will be made.
