England and Everton Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford signed a new six-year contract on Wednesday, keeping him at Goodison Park until 2024.
He was linked with Chelsea in the summer window after helping England reach the semifinals in in 2018 Worldcup in Russia.
The England shot stopper said, “You see it all over on your Twitter or Sky Sports, you know what I mean? I don’t let it affect my performances. I just knuckled down and knew I had a contract with Everton. At any time, I didn’t think anything other. I just worked hard when I was away with England and, even with the new manager coming in, it was all about England at the time. I came back here and it was all about getting back to work with Everton.”
The 24-year-old joined Everton from Sunderland for £30 million last year and has established himself as England’s No. 1, becoming the youngest goalkeeper to represent the Three Lions at a World Cup.
The 24 year old said, “It’s been a whirlwind of a year and a big leap for me, i think just getting this contract signed can only put it to bed and get the progression for myself to become better. I think it’s a great step for the club and a great direction to be heading. If I wasn’t here, then I might not have been with England at the World Cup. I think getting this move has improved me massively.”
