death sentence for the corrupt- high court advocate

An advocate of the High Court has drafted a Bill that recommends the death sentence for those convicted of corruption, economic crimes and sabotage. Kevin Macharia said the Bill also seeks to give every Kenyan the power to fight corruption.

Speaking during the launching of the Bill yesterday, its promoter, Michael Njoroge  said the crimes merited lethal punishment.

The 26-year-old architect and activist said he had collected 998 signatures in 31 counties and hoped to collect a million in the next one month to trigger a referendum on the matter. Mr Njoroge said the main purpose of the proposed law was to ensure political and judicial goodwill, which would create economic stability.
