Although it happened 5 years ago, the pain is equally the same, the scared remember, they speak of the memories as fresh. It was a big blow for Kenya. A story that left many in shock, trauma and disbelief. The lives lost, the pain, and all the time it took for the victim to get closure. Some never have , and they still mourn the deaths of their beloved.
Beyond the loss, is the disappointment by Kenyans that the heros were never recognized. 5 years down the line they boldly speak out and applaud the said heros. Earlier shared photos to applaud the efforts of those who saved lives and at the same time sharing messages in support of the victims.
The heroic action of these guys were top notch. Unfortunately they couldn’t get a head of state commendation after saving several lives during the #Westgate terrorist attack. pic.twitter.com/YjWTYFNoA8

Kenyans are also angered by the fact that the mystery behind the Westgate attack was never revealed.
I recall @UKenyatta said that he’d form an committee to investigate the Westgate Attack…..but he chose not to…. So much about keeping promises. #Westgate
