Europa League hurts Arsenal big

Arsenal’s manager Unai Emery will have to deal with more injury news as midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been added to his injury list ahead of their Premier League game against Everton.

The Armenian midfielder played the full 90 minutes in the Gunners’ 4-2 Europa League win over Vorskla Poltava but damaged his right ankle and will need to be assessed over the coming days.

Mkhitaryan could not have started against Everton, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appear to be Emery’s favoured three to play off Alexandre Lacazette, but the Armenian has made a strong start to his first full season at Arsenal.

Emery could be without as many as six first-teamers for the visit of Everton, with Lucas Torreira another doubt having finished Thursday’s win with an ice pack on his knee following robust treatment from Ukrainian opponents.
