Uganda: Bobi wines arrival shocks world, Museveni worried

Ugandan Police have arrested Bobi Wine yet again moments after he arrived back in the country from the U.S.

He had landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi earlier on Thursday before leaving for Entebbe aboard a Kenya Airways flight.

“Ugandan opposition MP Bobi Wine is arrested and forced into army vehicle as soon as he lands at Entebbe airport after returning home from medical treatment in US,” Geoffrey York of The Globe and Mail said on Twitter.

 

There was heavy police presence on the streets of Entebbe and the Ugandan capital Kampala on Thursday.

 Ugandan police are said to have  separated Bobi Wine from other passengers immediately the plane touched down.

Reports also emerged that they prevented him from passing through the Immigration section of the airport.

They police are said to have driven him to an undisclosed location.

Supporters later took to social media to condemn the arrest of the Kyadondo East MP whose real name is Robert Kyagulanyi.

Kenyan musician David Mathenge aka Nameless posted a video dedicated to Bobi Wine and his wife Barbie.
