Duale Blasted for Urging Jubilee MPs to Leave Chambers during VAT tax vote

Kenyans on twitter have blasted Garissa Township Member of parliament and majority leader Aden Duale for forcing the 8% VAT tax to pass.

During the voting for the tax in the parliament, Duale was seen urging Jubilee members to leave the chambers so as the 233 number of members required to oppose the tax is not met.

A large number of members led by Tom Kajwang were leading the 0% tax campaign which minority leader John Mbadi and Majority leader Aden Duale were opposing.

However, the members who had left the chambers came back later which saw other members shouting at them as “wasaliti!”

The passing of the 8% VAT tax will see imposition of taxes on telecommunication services among them money transactions and data bundles.
