What Neymar told Roberto Firmino after PSG were beaten by Liverpool

Neymar personally congratulated Roberto Firmino after he scored Liverpool’s last-gasp winner against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday evening. PSG had battled back from two goals down at Anfield and appeared on course to secure a draw in their opening game in Group C. But Firmino, who came on as a second-half substitute after recovering from his eye injury, scored a superb winner in injury time to seal three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side. After the match Firmino was speaking to reporters when Neymar walked past his Brazil teammate. And Neymar had some kind words for the Liverpool forward after his winning goal.

‘Congratulations, you played great,’ Neymar told Firmino. ‘We’ll talk later.’ Daniel Sturridge replaced Firmino in Liverpool’s starting XI and the 29-year-old scored Liverpool’s opening goal in the first half. ‘When you have Bobby Firmino available, you actually always think ‘come on, bring him’,’ said Klopp. ‘But it was nice to see how Daniel performed tonight and he paid 100 per cent back. ‘That’s so cool for him, for us, such a big, important sign. And how I said, bringing Bobby in after 70 minutes is a nice tool, to be honest, I really like that. So it was good.’
