What Machester boss thinks of Lukaku and Degea after Saturday’s display

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hailed David De Gea and Romelu Lukaku following their heroics in the 2-1 win over Watford on Saturday 15th September 2018.

Watford came into the tie brimming with confidence after four straight wins in the league a run that saw them joint top of the table. Manchester United played a game of two halves and were impressive in the first half but were poor in the second half failing to master any shot on target.

Lukaku bagged a goal and was also instrumental in defense as he tackled in the added minutes to break Watford’s gameplay, “I think this last Romelu Lukaku tackle as a right-back shows everything. I think he is the image of the team, a team that played very well in long periods in the first half. But we had the experience also here last season where they don’t give up and when the game is open they believe.”

Mourinho also lauded De Gea after keeping out Cristian Kabasele’s header in added time, “That is the reason why De Gea is the best, why he is Manchester United’s goalkeeper and when you are goalkeeper of a big team, even if you don’t touch the ball for the whole game you have to be decisive.”
