Taking part in the Nairobi monthly clean-up exercise which also coincides with the #WorldCleanUpDay. I’m urging Nairobians to take part in the initiative which is happening in all 85 Wards in the County. A clean environment is a collective responsibility of all citizens. pic.twitter.com/CFq3V3Jm4u

Sonko tweeted saying citing that was also taking part in the clean up excercise which is he noted that it had coincided the World Clean up day.
However, people took to social media to call upon Sonko to arrest and shame up those who dispose waste anyhowly in the City streets.
Arrest, shame, punish offenders with community service! There’s a massive behaviour/cultural problem with majority. Look at rubbish around kiosks, bus stops, schools, markets etc. Lack of dust bins worsen the issue.

Others went further to demand an answer from Sonko on how much the county government allocates to garbage collection every year.
How much has your county allocated to garbage collection? If the companies that won the tenders to make Nairobi clean aren’t doing their job just replace them
