The government has tightened War on graft as the DPP Noordin Haji continues to give orders of arrest on those involved despite of their dockets in the government.
On Saturday 15th 2018, Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) raided the Meru Lands Registry and arrested nine officials following claims of illegal dealings.
Catherine Makau (County Lands Registrar), Elias Thuranira (subordinate staff), Pamela Mwendwa (clerical officer) and Nancy Mugo (support staff) are among those arrested.
According to EACC spokesperson Yassin Amaro, those arrested are alleged to have been using brokers to demand for bribes from locals.
He noted that detectives had spent two weeks investigating the nine officials before they were arrested.
The suspects were taken to the Isiolo Regional Office and are expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
