Rashford: Manchester to Everton ??

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has insisted he would ‘never tell anyone to leave Man United’ as they are one of the biggest clubs in world football.

His comments  come after Jamie Carragher suggested Marcus Rashford may have to quit Old Trafford to further his career development.

Rashford’s impressive displays for England during the international break stirred up plenty of debate about his club future and prompted suggestions that he isn’t given enough game time at United.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher said on Tuesday night that a move to a club like Everton would suit Rashford and give him sufficient opportunities to realise his lofty potential.

However, that is not a view shared by former Blackburn and Newcastle striker Shearer, who says: “I would never tell anyone to leave Man United. It’s one of, if not the, biggest club in the world. That’s a very difficult thing to say, but what I would say is he has to play regular football.

“He’s 20 and there comes a time when you look at things and say ‘I have to play regular first-team football.’ But I like him, I think he’s got incredible potential.”

Shearer was impressed by Rashford in the games against both Spain and Switzerland as the youngster notched England’s only goal in both matches.

United’s No.10 did squander a couple of opportunities in the defeat by Spain and Shearer suggested that is due to a lack of minutes with his club.

Mourinho also took the opportunity to have a dig at some of United’s rivals be comparing Rashford’s development to some other top, young English players at rival clubs.

“Marcus Rashford is not Dominic Solanke. He is not Ruben Loftus-Cheek. He is not Dominic Calvert-Lewein,” Mourinho said.

“He is Marcus Rashford – a Manchester United player, with an incredible number of appearances and an incredible number of minutes played at the highest level in the best possible competitions.

“So Manchester United supporters, for you and just for you to know what we are doing with Marcus Rashford, with Luke Shaw, with Jesse Lingard, with Scott McTominay, that is what we are doing here.”
