President Uhuru orders DPP to get more Funds

President Uhuru Kenyatta has increased funding to government agencies to help in the fight against corruption in the country.
While addressing Kenyans from State House, Nairobi on Friday afternoon, the head of state said the government will increase funding to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution to speed up fight against corruption.

“I want to assure Kenyans that their taxes will be used well. That is why, in my memorandum,I have increased the allocation to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, and to the investigative agencies. said the President.

The president also said that additional funding will be allocated to the judiciary and other investigative agencies involved in tackling corruption.

President Kenyatta also said that additional funding will also be allocated to the judiciary.

“I propose to increase the resources available to the institutions entrusted to fight corruption. Specifically, I have increased funding to the judiciary to speed up the completion of cases concerning corruption and economic crime. I expect these bodies to work together to help us restore our faith in public institutions,”

At the same time President Kenyatta proposed cuts on spending and austerity measures in all arms of the government targeting hospitality, seminars and other such expenses.
