Sergio Aguero sends a warning to goalscoring rivals Salah, Kane

Sergio Aguero has told his Premier League rivals that this is “the best I’ve felt in years”.

Aguero has started the season in fine form, three goals in the opening four games. The Argentinean also struck twice in the Community Shield win over Chelsea, after his excellent 2017/18 season was curtailed in April due to knee surgery.

That put paid to any slim chance he had of catching Mohamed Salah or Harry Kane in the Golden Boot stakes, but the 30-year-old has laid down a marker for this season.

“I’m not sure if this is the best start (to) a season for me, but it’s the best I’ve felt in years,” he told the club’s official website.

“It shows in my game. The challenge now is keeping up this level, and I’ll be working non-stop to maintain it.

“Honestly, I feel fantastic. Dr Cugat did amazing work with my knee and now I don’t feel any sort of discomfort.

“During the past few years, I felt pains at times and when last season came to an end, we decided it would be best to start treatment, and the results were very positive.”
