Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has claimed that he is in pristine condition to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in the Premier League after returning to Melwood from international duty.

Van Dijk, who joined Liverpool from Southampton as the world’s most expensive defender in January, has been a revelation for Jurgen Klopp’s men ever since he made his debut at the club.

The Dutchman played every single minute of the Netherlands’ UEFA Nations League clash against France while also clocking up the full quota of minutes during their friendly win over Peru.

The 27-year-old was adjudged Liverpool’s player of the month for August courtesy of his inspired performances at the back for the Merseyside outfit, helping them to the summit of the league table.

The defender also claimed that he has enough time to recover and get back to his best shape ahead of the trip to Wembley for the Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

“Now there’s good time to recover and make sure I am ready for Saturday against Tottenham”, he concluded.

Liverpool will now play seven games within the space of 23 days across three different competitions, starting with Saturday’s clash against Spurs at Wembley.
