The South American nation has a rich pedigree in football having won all the major international tournaments namely World Cup(2 times), Confederations Cup, Olympic Gold(2 times) and Copa América. They have time and again produced World-class professional footballers like Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Alfredo Di Stéfano and Javier Zanetti who have mesmerized the fans from all over the world with their skills and footballing ability.

Premier League has been lucky enough to host some of the great Argentine footballers since its inception in the early 90s. Mascherano arrived in England as part of controversial transfer dealings between West Ham and Corinthians in August of 2006. He only made 7 appearances for the east London Club before eventually moving to Liverpool in February of 2007.
Mascherano, in his three and a half year long stay at Merseyside, played 139 games in all competition. Known for his tough tacking, passing accuracy and distribution, mostly played as a defensive midfielder alongside Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso. With tackle success rate of 78% in the league, he is still considered as the best defensive midfielder to grace the Premier League.
Pablo Zabaleta
Signed from Espanyol in 2008, Pablo Zabaleta had a very successful nine-year stay at Manchester City. Two-time premier league winner with the Citizens, Zabaleta was a dependable defender, mostly being played on the right side of back-line. His hard-tackling style of play, leadership skills and knack for scoring important goals made him a fan favourite in Manchester.
Described as a “legend” by Pep Guardiola for his contributions to Manchester club and its overall success, finally left the club on a free transfer at the end of 2016-17 season to join West Ham. In total, he made 332 appearances for City scoring 11 goals. Zabaleta also helped West Ham avoid relegation and finish 13th in his first season at hammers.
Sergio Aguero
One of the deadliest finishers in the world, Sergio Aguero has enjoyed unprecedented success in Premier League with Manchester City. Signed from Athletico Madrid in 2011, Aguero will always be remembered for scoring the 94th-minute goal against Queens Park Rangers on last day of the season(2011–12)to win City’s first league title in 44 years.
Premier League golden boot winner in 2014-15, Aguero has also played an instrumental role in City’s other Premier League triumphs in 2014 and 2016 seasons. His current goal tally stands at 204 in 297 appearances in all competitions. In premier league, Aguero has commendable goals per match ratio of 0.7 (146 goals in 210 matches and still counting) which is highest in the history of Premier League. At the age of 30 Aguero is showing no signs of slowing down and if he manages to remain fit, he can still continue to play for good 3-4 years at the highest level.
