Edgar Davids has ripped into Paul Pogba, admitting he is “unconvinced” by the Manchester United star’s ability. Pogba, 25, has come under a lot of criticism during his second spell at Old Trafford, with reports claiming he is no longer happy working with Jose Mourinho.
The midfielder put in some terrific performances to help France win the World Cup in July. But he is yet to replicate that form in the new season, with United losing two of their opening four Premier League matches. And Dutch legend Davids, who played for the likes of Juventus, Barcelona and the two Milan giants, reckons Pogba still has a lot of work to do in order to become one of Europe’s best.
He said: “I am not at all convinced by Pogba. He plays a lot in England, it’s true, but I expected a lot more from him.” Davids claims he is unconvinced by Pogba’s ability. Spanish champions Barca continue to be linked with a move for Pogba despite bringing in Arturo Vidal and Arthur over the summer.
But it’s former side Juve who could yet win the race for his coveted signature.Reports claim that Max Allegri is keen on playing Pogba off new £99million signing Cristiano Ronaldo in attack.
Juve are also hoping to land Marcelo from Real Madrid and could offer current left-back Alex Sandro in a swap deal.
