Nairobi governor mike mbuvi sonko has gone ahead and dared the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) to go ahead and impeach him if they are not comfortable with him.
According to Sonko, he will not be intimidated by the MCAs who impeached the speaker of the County Assembly speaker Beatrice Elachi on Thursday over what they termed as alleged gross misconduct.
The Nairobi Governor now says he will be going back to the supreme court to seek its advisory over the fate of his deputy.
Nairobi Governor had been given 14 days to appoint his deputy a situation which has angered the MCAs as there is no sign of having a Deputy Governor by the time the the period elapses.
Sonko had earlier nominated Miguna Miguna who was rejected for the positio.He further went ahead to noominated four women including former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru. corporate guru Agnes Kagure, lawyers Karen Nyamu and Jane Weru.
One of the four was expected to replace Polycarp Igathe who resigned from the position in January.
According to Sonko in an interview commenting on his nomination he said, “I prefer a woman for the position.”
“I have four names in mind but I am waiting for consultations with top Jubilee party leadership who are my bosses to see who to choose.”
