It’s been an incredible start to life at Arsenal for Matteo Guendouzi – and it’s just got even better for the French teenager.

Having arrived in the summer for Ligue 2 side Lorient, Guendouzi was the least heralded of Arsenal’s five summer signings – with the expectation being that he would start the season with the Under-23s squad.
But Unai Emery included the midfielder in his squad for the pre-season tour to Singapore and the 19-year-old hasn’t looked back since, delivering consistently excellent performances that have seen him go on to start all four Premier League games so far.
And those displays have seen him become a huge hit with the club’s fanbase, which is shown by the fact he Guendouzi has just been named as Arsenal’s player of the month for August – receiving a huge 68 per cent of the votes.
