Manchester United fans will love this: Star back to action

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been handed a timely boost as summer signing Diogo Dalot is fit and rearing for an English Premier League start.

Dalot joined United from Portuguese Champions Porto for a fee of £19M but was unlucky as he required a minor knee surgery that has kept him out of the opening games.

Dalot made a comeback in a Premier League 2 game against Stoke City and played for 78 minutes despite having his knee strapped a decision he termed as a precaution.

Speaking to ESPN Dalot revealed that if he is called upon he will deliver, “If the manager thinks I’m ready and he wants me to play, I will play, for sure. I’m going to prepare myself for that and as soon as he wants me, I’ll be ready.”

Dalot added that the timeout isn’t frustrating for him, “It has not been frustrating because you have to be prepared for these things in football. I kept my mind always thinking just step by step. I’m one more step closer to where I want to be because I want to play.”

The Portuguese also said that he has a lot of inspiration in the dressing room, “For sure, I’m going to become a better player here. The team have already helped me a lot and I’ve learned a lot in a short space of time from Antonio, Matteo, Ashley and Luke. I’m looking forward to learning more. I think I can get better. We always think we can do better and I have to keep improving.”
