Former Prime minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday met with former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth at his Capitol Hill to find a solution to the 16 per cent VAT on petroleum products.
Raila said the government should balance between protecting vulnerable Kenyans and raising revenue.
“The challenge now is to find ways of balancing between the two… A way out has to be found,” he said.
Noting that the increase will hurt employers, Raila said the government should find other means to raise funds. But Kenyans on Twitter have reacted differently.

I strongly believe this meeting was solely about politics. Considering the fact that none of the two hold public office I really doubt how they can discuss development. 2022 hapo ndio main aganda(not to discredit the amount of influence they yield).
