I stole my first bed, reveals Itumbi

 

The Director of Digital Innovation and Diaspora in the Office of the President Dennis Itumbi has disclosed that he stole the first ever bed he owned.

In an interview with comedian Chipukeezy, Itumbi who was sharing about his struggles and how he made it to where he is, Itumbi revealed that he stole his first bed from college where he had completed his Diploma at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC).

He went ahead and said that he then rented a house in Mukuru slum, which he was supposed to pay Sh350 as monthly rent but because he could not afford to pay for his first month, the owner of the house took the bed he had stolen.

I didn’t know anyone. In fact wakati tulimaliza shule KIMC, I stole a bed ile ya chuma my first bed niliiba ya shule because singeafford tukaenda tukaingia huko Mukuru we were paying Sh350 three times. Hio kitanda by the way ilichukuliwa na landlord coz singelipa hio 350 the first month. The second house I got nilienda tu nikabuy bedsheet nilikuwa nalala na bedsheet for about six or seven months,” he said.

Dennis Itumbi went ahead to say that his first major breakthrough in life was when he went to Nairobi’s Kencom and posed as a preacher and people gave him money as he explained what would be of the mysterious number 666.

He said that it was when he made Sh8, 000 which helped him move to a slightly better house.
