Egypt lost their first qualifier 1-0 to Tunisia, and will be looking to bounce back following a dismal World Cup campaign, the departure of coach Hector Cuper and an ongoing rift between the football federation and star player Mohamed Salah.

Aguirre was appointed as Cuper’s replacement on August 1, having previously managed Atletico Madrid, Real Zaragoza, Espanyol and Osasuna among others

Egypt legend Hany Ramzy will also assist the Mexican coach, with Spanish physical trainer Pol Lorente also joining up with the squad to work on the players’ preparation.
