Ronaldo left the La Liga giants this summer after nine successful years to team up with Juventus. It came after weeks of speculation following comments the Portuguese superstar made just moments after winning the Champions League for the third year in a row.
After helping Los Blancos beat Liverpool 3-1, Ronaldo said: “We have to enjoy this momen. In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that have always been on my side.
“It was very nice to be at Real Madrid, in the coming days I will talk about it more.” And Ramos has revealed that the dressing room only knew Ronaldo’s future was in doubt seconds before the rest of the world knew.
“We found out practically when the microphones were being set up and we were surprised,” the Real Madrid captain said. “He [Ronaldo] does what he wants.”
Ronaldo had been linked with a return to Manchester United during the summer, however Juventus got their man.
But the 33-year-old will now go back to Old Trafford after the Red Devils and Juventus were drawn in the same Champions League group.
And former United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel thinks the fans will be delighted to see their former idol.
“You want to be in a group that’s exciting. You want to be in a group that produces some great TV matches also,” said Schmeichel.
“That’s kind of the big bonus, that we get Cristiano back to Old Trafford.
“I think the crowd at Old Trafford will be very, very happy to see him back.
“Of course last time he was there it wasn’t too great for Manchester United.”
“Playing against Juventus, they are probably the hardest team in Europe at the moment, because of this signing [Ronaldo].
“Everyone is looking at them as rebuilding the whole Italian club football scene again.
“It’s a massive signing for them and the expectation comes with having signed him.I think it’s going to be really a difficult game. There’s no doubt about that.”
