The 2017/2018 Premier League season has gone by but the memories it left behind will last for a long time. While we might not be able to recall everything that happened during the campaign, no one will surely forget the incredible revelation of Egyptian maestro – Mohamed Salah. The attacker left Roma for Liverpool during the summer of 2017 and quickly established himself in the English Premier League. In his first season at Anfield, Salah bagged an incredible 32 goals in 36 appearances, breaking a lot of goalscoring records, dominating the headlines as well as claiming the prestigious Premier League Golden Boot for his incredible exploits during the campaign.
The Egyptian has also started the 2018/2019 Premier League season in great spirit, scoring a beautiful goal during Liverpool’s opening fixture against West Ham to open his account for the campaign.
With his incredible displays at the moment, it seems the attacker is on a mission to replicate last season’s performances in the English top flight and finish as the top scorer once again.
However, it is evident that he will find it very difficult to defend the Golden Boot this season, with other attackers also raising their games and aiming a serious challenge for the prestigious award.
Sadio Mane
Following a brilliant campaign in which Liverpool superstar Sadio Mane bagged an incredible 10 goals in the English top flight last season, the attacker has come back even stronger in front of goal this term and that could see him overtake his teammate, Mohamed Salah in the top scorers’ race.
The Senegalese has helped Liverpool to a brilliant start to the new campaign, scoring an amazing brace against West Ham in their opening fixture. He followed that with another stunning performance against Crystal Palace where he found the back of the net once more to raise his tally to three.
With 36 matches still to be played, this could be Mane’s season to make history in the English Premier League. If he continues with such an incredible form until the end of the campaign, nothing will stop him from scoring more goals than Mohamed Salah this term.
Romelu Lukaku
Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku is also one of the few superstars who could finish ahead of Mohamed Salah on the Premier League top scorer’s chart this season. The Belgian has been one of the finest attackers in the English top flight for the past few years and he is set to continue with his incredible exploits during the campaign.
A decent attacker with immense finishing skills, Lukaku is a typical Premier League player whose physicality and hard work has helped him to rack up plenty number of goals in the division – including an incredible 16 efforts last term.
Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur superstar, Harry Kane has been one of the most impressive attackers in the Premier League for the past few years. With his 30 goals in 37 appearances during the previous campaign, the striker narrowly lost the Golden Shoe to Mohamed Salah and he could eventually get the better of his rival this season.
A highly talented and intelligent striker, there is no doubt Kane has what it takes to finish above Salah on the goalscorer’s chart during the campaign. As a matter of fact, he will be looking forward to regaining the Golden Shoe this term, having claimed the honour during the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 campaigns.
Sergio Aguero
Having won the prestigious Premier League title convincingly during the previous campaign, there is no doubt Manchester City will continue running riot in the English top flight this season – and so also will their star striker – Sergio Kun Aguero.
The Argentine is a very popular figure in the division, courtesy of his incredible performances for the past few years. He was one of the dominant players in the competition last term and he finished the campaign with a brilliant 25 goals in 21 appearances.
