Kenyans are now calling for the arrest of Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.
Sonko should be arrested by EACC to set an example for obstructing justice when he ordered the release of Susan Wangare from a lawful custody.

This is after a recording alleged to be that of Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu calling Sonko over the arrest of his wife was leaked online. The video was first leaked by Blogger Abraham Mutai but it has since gone viral.

In the recording, Waititu can be heard telling Sonko to release the wife and her constructors but Sonko only agreed to release Wangare asking the Kiambu boss to contact State House for the rest.
Sonko then orders a Mr. Ochanda on phone to release the First Lady on a Ksh.10,000 bond but directs that she gets an approval before she can continue with the construction.
The video has elicited very bitter reactions from Kenyans with most of them calling for the arrest of the governor for breaking the law. Outspoken Embakasi East MP Babu Owino was among those who called on Sonko not to misuse his powers.
“Governor Mike Sonko must be reminded in no uncertain terms that the law must never be adjusted to suit one’s class, title, religion, tribe or any other form of discrimination. This video clip rubbishes all Sonko’s purported efforts on matter war against corruption!” Babu Posted on his twitter handle.

Other Kenyans were not so nice with Sonko. Check out the reactions below.
Who is @MikeSonko to order the release of @KiambuCountyGov First lady? If Susan was arrested for wrong doing let her be charged. Impunity should not be entertained in Kenya. The media is making it look like sonko is the new Magistrate or DPP

Sonko shameless calls a cartel ‘YOUR EXCELLENCY’ and admits that he is breaking the law to help Susan Wangare hide from the law. He actually says he will give approval if Waititu visits him. These are the people we trust to fight cartels? @MarthaKarua @JKNjenga

Waititu’s wife, Susan Wangare, was arrested on Wednesday by Nairobi County officials for constructing without relevant approvals.
Wangare was arrested together with 15 other people who included her site workers as they worked on an 8-storey building in Nairobi’s CBD.
She was arraigned in a city court on Wednesday and was released on a cash bail of Kshs.80,000 after pleading not guilty to charges of occupation of a building structure without permission from the then City Council. The case will be mentioned on 6th of September 2018.
