Bruno Alves Moves to Italy

The defender spent just one season at Ibrox, where he made 25 appearances for the club as they finished 3rd in the league behind Aberdeen and arch-rivals Celtic.

Alves has now returned to Italy, after having a previous spell at Cagliari, with new side about to start life back in the top flight of Italian football after gaining promotion last season.

The Scottish club have already made three signings in their defensive ranks this summer, bringing Jon Flanagan, Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic to the club.

However, Steven Gerrard is now looking for a player to come in to the side to replace him, and has targeted Millwall defender Jake Cooper to do that.

The London-based club have, however, rejected a bid of £3 million from Rangers, so Gerrard may have to look elsewhere.
