Gor Mahia skipper on how the team overcomes the heavy fixture schedule

Gor Mahia skipper has hailed his team’s squad depth adding that it is enough to see them through their hectic fixture schedule.

Gor defended their Super Cup title and are chasing the CAF Confederations Cup, the Shield Cup, and the league simultaneously. They will also be part of the teams that will battle for the Kagame CECAFA Championship Cup in Tanzania. A friendly match against Everton is also ahead in July.

“As we can all see, this year is a very tight one for us because we are engaged in quite a number of competitions. With all that, we are calm and focused because we have good depth in the team and I think we will manage,” Shakava told the club portal

The skipper believes the team is on the right track as they chase the multiple titles.

“I think we are on the right track…. we will maintain our focus and have the best attitude because nothing comes easy.  It’s all about team-work and togetherness at Gor Mahia that is pushing us to deliver as expected. We work together for the greater good of the team, we listen and support each other at all levels and so, we appreciate the work we’ve done so far.” he added.

Gor will face Posta Rangers and Sony Sugar before departing for the CECAFA challenge.
