#Match Report: England Intensify their World Cup Preparations with a 2-1 win over Nigeria

Captain Harry Kane scored his eighth goal in his last seven appearances for the national team as England intensified their World Cup preparations with a 2-1 win over Nigeria.

Gary Cahil had opened the scoring with powerful header after only seven minutes. The Chelsea captain, returning to the national staked his claim to start the first match against Tunisia on 18th July.

Gareth Southgate’s team dominated the first half of the match and should have scored more were it not for their wastefulness in front of goal.

Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi pulled one back for Nigeria with a grisp finish in the second half but it remained just a consolation as the Super Eagles couldn’t find an equalizer.
