Zidane’s possible replacements

Real Madrid and France legend Zinedine Zidane has left his post at Los Blancos after more than two years at La Liga giants.

The Frenchman recently led his former club to a third consecutive Champions League trophy with a 3-1 win over Liverpool in Kiev, Ukraine. But it appears a third-place finish in the league proved to be the 45-year-old’s demise.

However, despite Zidane’s remarkable achievement that won’t be a concern for Real Madrid who is looking for a replacement.

Here are five candidates.

Arsene Wenger

Wenger, who stepped down from his role as Arsenal manager at the end of the season, is just (5/2) to be the next Real Madrid manager. The Frenchman stated his desire to remain in football, at 68-years-old, and had previously been linked to jobs with Paris Saint-Germain, Everton and the France national team.

The bookmakers believe it is Wenger who is most likely to take over from his countryman after that wildly successful two-and-a-half year in charge.

Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte has been heavily linked with leaving Chelsea this summer is and no doubt his fiery touchline personality would very much be welcomed at the Santiago Bernabeu his possible odds to be the next coach is (7/1)

He’s a proven winner and trusts in youth. A methodical manager who has the grit to succeed at Real.

Guti

Guti is Real Madrid’s youth team coach with possible potential to replace Zinedine is (11/2), since the board may decide to repeat their process of hiring within. The Spaniard also has the advantage of being a former Real Madrid player, having played in the first team for 15 seasons.

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool faced Madrid in the Champions League final in Kiev and in an interview with Spanish outlet Don Balon revealed that  Liverpool manager Klopp is Real’s top choice to replace him with odds of (22/1)
