Record breakers going to the World Cup

Miroslav Klose made history by becoming the first player to score over 15 goals in the world cup finals when he scored in Germany’s 7-1 humiliation of Brazil in the last edition. The retired former Bayern Munchen attacker holds the record for most goals with 16 strikes.
Below however is a list of players who will be looking to eclipse that record in Russia next Month.
Luis Suarez
The Uruguay hitman has scored 8 goals and will undoubtedly be looking to add to this talky when he lines up again to respresent his National team in Russia in two weeks time.
Tim Cahill
Australia’s best hope for goals will once again be placed on the aging but very reliable former Everton striker Tim Cahill. The player has 8 goals in the tournament so far.
Lionel Messi
Having lost the final four years ago to Germany, Messi will be looking to go one step further and win the World cup while adding to his tally of Five goals.
Gonzalo Higuain
Through on goal and with only the keeper to beat, Gonzalo Higuain failed together seize his moment in the last world cup final, he shot wide. Had he scored, he would have added to his tally of five goals while also giving Argentina the lead. The striker who recently led Juventus to their sixth straight scudetto will however be hoping for a better outing in Russia. 
Thomas Mueller
Probably the one likely to beat Klose’s record is this fellow country man Thomas Mueller. The Bayern Munchen attaccking midfielder has ten goals having only played in two world cups. Mueller will obviously be one for defenders to watch when Germany kickstarts it’s title defence in Russia.
