Thousands of supporters turned out for Dirk Kuyt’s testimonial match at Feyernood’s De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam. Kuyt is almost regarded as a small god after leading the club to the first Eredevise title since 1999 in the 2016/17 season.
Former Liverpool teammates Luis Garcia, Gerrard, Carragher and Jerzy Dudek also played in the testimonial as Kuyt bid final farewell to footbal.
Kuyt played for Liverpool between 2006 and 2012 and scored some important goals for the club but he will be best remembered for the hat trick he scored against bitter rivals Manchester United in 2011. The striker cum winger has more than 100 caps for Netherlands.
