Key Arsenal duo set for crunch talks over Gunners future

A pair of Arsenal midfielders are set for crunch talks with new boss Unai Emery over their futures at the club, a report claims.

According to The Sun, Emery will meet with long-serving Gunners duo Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere next week to try and convince both players to sign a new deal.

The former PSG manager is reportedly a big fan of both players, and with their futures uncertain, he is keen to tie them down ahead of the new season.

Ramsey is entering the final year of his deal at the Emirates Stadium, and The Sun states that Arsenal want him to pen a new five-year contract through until 2023.

If they do not manage to tie him down, then the club will consider selling the Welshman this summer to avoid him walking away for nothing in 2019.

Meanwhile, 26-year-old Wilshere has a deal which expires next month, meaning he will become a free agent if he doesn’t agree fresh terms.

The England international has already rejected a deal which would have seen his pay slashed by 25% and wants to see where he would fit into Emery’s plans before signing on the dotted line.
