Former Arsenal player has said that Arsenal are going nowhere. This is after it emerged that new manager Unai Emery will be given only £60 million for transfers.
“When I hear about the amount of money Emery has to spend, I can’t believe it,” the Frenchman is quoted by the Standard. “Where are you going with £60m? You’re going nowhere.”
Petit believes that Emery will not be able to match the other top six Premier League clubs with such a modest transfer kitty.
“We need talented experienced players. We need big characters and big personalities. This is what has been missing. For me, £60m is ridiculous.”
