Roma striker Edin Dzeko has said that he was not ready to move back to the Premier League in January.
The 32 year old Bosnian was subject of numerous bids from Chelsea as the London clubbed looked to improve the quality of their attacking options. But Dzeko remained at Roma and Chelsea had to sign Olivier Giroud for £18million from Arsenal.
Dzeko has since revealed that a number of his close friends warned him about moving back to England, as he insists he was not ready to make the decision.
“Chelsea is a big challenge and I know what kind of a club that is, I’ve been at Man City and I wasn’t ready to move to Chelsea.
“Nobody I spoke to wanted me to move to Chelsea so I decided to stay.”
