Ricardo Kaka: A Diamond That Slowly Lost Its Sheen


Ricardo Kaka was one of the greatest players of his time. He made his professional debut for Sao Paulo on 1 February 2001. He spent three years with them and scored 23 goals. He eventually joined AC Milan.  In 2009, Real Madrid bought him for €68.5 million. It did not work the way intended.

He was inconsistent throughout his Real Madrid career He had stop-start campaigns at Real Madrid. His dribbling abilities slowly declined. He was not the same Kaka anymore. He  was no longer a creative attacking midfielder. His ability to spellbound the audience with his moves slowly vanished.

Joining Real Madrid was a turning point in Kaka’s life, but it didn’t go in the desired way. It was really unfortunate that it happened.
