How Ronaldo’s Career Was Never The Same After He Joined Real Madrid

Ronaldo has played for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in Spain. Real Madrid signed Ronaldo in 2002 for  €46 million. He spent five seasons with Real Madrid from 2002 to 2006 and played 177 games with them while scoring 104 goals. In the 2004-05 season, Ronaldo had 24 goals to his name in 45 matches.

However, injuries ruined his career. He had stop-start campaigns. He played only 27 games for Real Madrid in the 2005-06 season. A massive decline in the numbers tells you what happened. The woes only increased the next season. The inclusion of Nistelrooy in Real Madrid meant Ronaldo became a liability at the club.

The Brazilian legend barely played only 14 games in that season. He left Real Madrid at the end of the season and joined AC Milan.
