Mathare United Goalkeeper Job Ochieng’ wants to keep another clean-sheet when they meet Kariobangi Sharks at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos on Saturday.

Ochieng’, who has started in all the first three matches this season, picked his first clean-sheet when they played against Bandari, and his target is not to concede any goal against the Sharks.

His wish is intertwined with the entire club’s goal which is to bag another bunch of three points following their recent victory against Ulinzi Stars.

“If I start on Saturday it will be my second game against Sharks. I started against them last season and kept a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw so I will be hoping for another shutout. But most importantly is for the team to win. So I will do my best in my role and hope this will inspire the rest of my teammates to go out there and get the result,” he told the club’s website.

So far, Ochieng’ 21, has been so impressive this season, and he attributes all to his seniors. “My confidence has grown immensely this season and all this is down to the fact that the coaches have put faith in me. I am lucky because I am at a club that has rich history in Kenyan football, also lucky that I get the chance to work day to day with David Okello who is a big brother to me.

“He (Okello) has helped in many ways both on and off the pitch. Before every game I talk to him and he helps me calm my nerves. After a game we also talk and he gives me insights about my performance. He is a veteran and I’ve really learnt a lot from him,” he said.
