Gor Mahia Captain Issues Rallying Call to Fans

Image result for kenneth mugunaGor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna has called on the fans to turn up in large numbers and rally behind the team when they take on USM Alger in a CAF Champions League return leg match on Sunday, September at the historic Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.

K’Ogalo host the troubled North African club in a match they will be keen on getting at least a 3-0 win in order to qualify for the group stage for the first time ever. The team lost to USM by a 4-1 scoreline in the first leg staged in Algiers a fortnight ago and have an uphill task of turning the game around.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s duel, Muguna called on club supporters to turn up of the match in large numbers. He acknowledged that the fans will push the team to perform well against the North Africans.

“I urge the fans to show up in numbers on Sunday. We have amazing fans who have always pushed us to perform well in the past. On Sunday we need them and I call on them to turn up in numbers and back the team, together we can make the impossible possible,” he said.

On the task ahead the midfielder admitted that the team has a huge task of ensuring that they score goals while at the same time ensuring that their rear-guard is tight.

“It won’t be easy because we have to get goals and defend at the same time. We need to score three and also ensure that they don’t score so it won’t be easy but we will do our best, in football you can never say no, anything is possible,” he stated.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 PM.
