Barely three days before the Deputy President William Ruto lead a mega inter denomination fundraising function in Eldoret, the DP has been challenged to include Kenya Assemblies of God Church Kiambaa in his donations.

Led by Uasin Gishu’s popular blogger Lord PK Kimutai, the residents called on the DP to consider funding the re-construction of AGC church which was burned after the 2007-2008 post-election violence.

According to the residents, this will promote good cohesion at the same time acting as a good gesture towards full healing of the region.

“Kiambaa church should be included in the fundraising being attended by our DP this Sunday. Lets champion for a new Kiambaa Church”, posted the blogger on his Facebook page.

Despite some opposing the proposal, terming it a reminder of the dark past, a larger number of the users supported the idea saying Kiambaa church should be built with or without the Deputy President

All churches within Uasin Gishu should be supported, why the hypocrisy in serving the Lord?” posed Kimutai.

The church which was burned down in 2008 has remained a matter of discussion currently attracting the attention of Jubilee party Secretary-General Raphael Tuju and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

The two recently called for its re-construction including setting up a monument as a way of honoring those who perished in the area.
