Controversial Life of Stephen Mark Oduk, Suspect Caught With Fake 1 Million Dollars

Stephen Mark Oduk aka Lucas Mbadi, one of the suspects arrested on Thursday after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) seized fake 1 million U.S. dollars and 147 gold bars in Kilimani, Nairobi, is not new to controversy.

Police confiscated the fake cash and gold hidden in a safe at Plan 254 Club which belongs to Oduk.

Apart from living a flashy lifestyle, his name is a common feature in courts over crimes that include fake money, gold scams, and kidnappings.

In May, Oduk was among the seven suspects arrested after police nabbed fake dollars in Kilimani.

In 2013, Oduk and four other suspects were arraigned over the kidnapping of two children of Asian origin in Nairobi.

The kidnappers demanded Ksh86 million from the minors’ family to set them free.

They were arrested in their hideout in Matasia, Ngong, and arraigned over the incident.

Like other suspects arraigned in court over fake gold scams, Oduk lives a flashy lifestyle.

According to Nation, Oduk has a permanent spot reserved for him at a Kilimani restaurant where he spends a minimum of Ksh100,000 per month.

He once told the media that he spent a cool Ksh2.5 million for his fiancé’s 20th birthday party at Casablanca Club.

Drinks flowed freely at the party that was attended by 200 people, among them prominent personalities in the business and political world.

He is also reported to have used Ksh1 million for his fiancé’s baby shower.
