Boost For Wazito FC as Key Forward Resumes Full Training

Wazito FC has been handed a major boost ahead of their Kenya Premier League fixture with Zoo Kericho on Saturday. The newly-promoted side will have key forward Joe Waithera back in action.

Waithera missed Wazito’s last two matches with a slight knock but he resumed full training with the rest of the squad on Wednesday. Waithera’s return will be a huge boost for Wazito who are yet to register a win since earning promotion to the Kenyan Premier League.

Fred Ambani’s side drew one all with Nzoia in the first match before a 0-0 outing against Western Stima on matchday 2. Their season took a drastic twist when a Mark Makwatta second-half penalty condemned them to their first loss of the season at the hands of AFC Leopards last week.

Waithera impressed for Wazito last season and was the only player from the National Super League to be named in the Harambee Stars squad for the CHAN 2020 qualifiers by former manager Sebastian Migne.

His return will aid a Wazito side that is in desperate need of some craft at the front. The team is yet to score from open play so far this season with the lone goal scored coming from the penalty spot and was converted by Elvis Rupia.

They will be up against a Zoo Kericho side that is scoring for fun this season having found the net 6 times in three matches. The last time the two sides faced each other, Wazito won 2-0. Below is a video of the goals..
